#SNSCOLOUR 2016 DAY 4: White

It’s no secret around these parts that I’ve been mildly obsessed by white this Summer.

In fact, I recently wore two of my favourite white frocks here on the blog.

While the weather plays along, I’m wearing my white frockery any chance I get. The good news, though, is that white is also a key colour for AW16, with creams, parchments and warmer, milky tones all featuring strongly across a range of fashion retailers in their latest Autumn drops.

Indeed, when it came time to research this post, white featured pretty much everywhere, across all price points and stores, so if this is a trend you’d like to embrace, you shouldn’t have any trouble finding what you like at a budget that suits.

And here’s my edit of what’s in store right now:

#SNSCOLOUR 2016 DAY 4- WHITE

TOP ROW, L-R: Roll Neck Tunic, $99.95 from Seed Heritage; Aden Top, $129 from Gorman; Marta Tote, $99.95 from Witchery; Frill hem tank, $39.95 from Seed Heritage.

BOTTOM ROW, L-R: Rollie Slingbacks, $149.95 from Rollie;  Slim Boyfriend Jean, $129 from Trenery; V Neck Knit dress, $149.95 from Witchery; Bondi White Sandals, $89.95 from Style Tread.

In terms of how to style white as we move into the cooler weather (as inconceivable as that seems right now), here are a few ideas.

White on white is a gorgeous modern look, particularly if you can incorporate some textural elements such as snakeskin, feathers, leather, a self pattern or beading. The white version of this black feather tee with white jeans is a good example.

White goes with everything but can be the block colour instead of an incidental or accent colour. For example, a tailored white dress with a skinny black belt for corporate chic or a white dress with a denim jacket for a more casual look.

White is also the perfect canvas for showing off statement jewellery. A simple white tee and jeans with a special piece of jewellery can be a simple but striking look.

A white Winter jacket or coat might seem impractical (especially if you’re living with toddlers or puppies) but could actually be an excellent alternative to black if you have a wardrobe full of neutrals. There are some great styles around right now, including this gorgeous coated wrap jacket from Trenery.

If you’re looking for a white frocks you can wear right now, Witchery and Country Road still have a decent range.
