Style Snippets: Easter @ Shenanigans HQ

Happy Easter!

I hope you are enjoying this long weekend, spending time with your special peeps, inhaling hot cross buns and taking some time out to reflect and regroup.

To celebrate Easter, I’m sharing some style snippets from Easter here at Shenanigans HQ. Yesterday morning, we held our second and now traditional Easter Egg hunt (you only have to do things once or twice around here and they become much loved traditions!).

The weather forecast promised a cool but dry day, but alas, drizzle and clouds set in during the morning. It wasn’t looking good. As they say, however, the show must go on. And go on it did. The kids wore their gumboots, we made the most of the rain breaks and shared a simple morning tea together.

We had four heats of the egg and spoon race (little kids, big kids, mums and then the blokes), followed by the grand final. (Uncle Simon was the winner this year, if you were wondering). I also instituted a new quality control measure – everyone used a disposable spoon to avoid post race challenges about certain spoons providing an advantage!

Then it was time for the Easter Egg hunt. The kids found most of them but I suspect there will be a few surprises found in the garden for the next few months. If the rain hadn’t begun again, we would have then let the kids hide the eggs for the grown ups. They love hiding eggs almost as much as they like finding them.

After all, for me, Easter is about celebrating life and being grateful.
