Spring Dresses from Luxe to Less

If Winter is all about hibernation, then Spring is the season of socialising.

And with the Spring racing carnival, weddings, formals and other end of year events slowly filling up the diary, you might – like me – already be thinking about what to wear to said events.

Shopping your wardrobe, hitting up your local Savers or swapping with a girlfriend or a family member is always the most budget friendly way to go but if you are on the search for something new, I hope this post – which features a range of smart casual to dressy options – is a good place to start and will help make any visit to the local shopping centre a shorter, sharper and – if you don’t like shopping/trying on clothes/not sure where to start – a less excruciating affair.

From modern floral and geometric prints through to bold and muted, tonal colours, silky fabrications and show stopping styles, there really is a frock to suit all budgets, styles, shapes and occasions in stores right now.

In fact, when I researched this post, it was hard to limit my selection to the styles I’ve included below. There’s just SO much choice right now, and at the beginning of the season, all styles and sizes are available too.

I’m rather partial to a jumpsuit too, so I’ve also included some jumpsuit options as well, if you’re looking for an alternative to a frock or just want to mix things up this Spring. All are quite dressy but equally capable of being dressed down with a pair of sandals or espadrille wedges.

So if you’re a frock or jumpsuit loving girl like me, and you’ve got an occasion or three coming up, it’s an excellent time to shop the frock.

  • For a formal occasion, the new Thurley for Forever New capsule collection is well worth a look. Think pretty pastels, lace and botanical prints at half Thurley’s usual price point;
  • Mister Zimi’s Spring collection, Les Fleurs, launches next week on 24 September and will definitely be worth a squiz. Check out their Insta feed here for a preview.
